Rapture - The Menagerie
Imagine stepping into a time-honored 1909 Queen Anne Victorian home, where every corner whispers stories of the past. At Sarah Stacey Interior Design, we embarked on a transformative journey with the Rapture Suite, breathing new life into this historic landmark.
Our challenge was to seamlessly bridge the gap between old-world charm and contemporary elegance, all while paying homage to the home’s rich history. In the piano room, we embraced the legacy of the space, weaving in the existing rug’s burgundy hues throughout the design. Here, high ceilings met modern proportions, as we introduced large-scale artwork and a plush sofa, all while preserving the room’s dramatic accents—like the timeless piano, ornate chandelier, and opulent drapery.
The spacious dining room saw us playing with scale once more, adorning the space with grand lamps, a stately sideboard, and regal empire mirrors. To complement the existing ornate chandelier, we curated commanding mid-century chairs, each a treasure unearthed from a local auction.
In the bedroom, we continued our dance between the classic and the contemporary. A canopy bed with fringe detailing met a modern bubble chandelier, while large-scale drapery found balance with a delicate floral wallpaper. Against the backdrop of floral walls, deep red lamps with striped lampshades added a captivating contrast.
